Service Description

This comprehensive curriculum-based course is designed for grade 1 students enrolled in a Canadian French immersion program. It aims to help students develop their literacy skills in a more formal and structured way, with an emphasis on language form and accuracy. It will also allow them to expand their communication skills and overall fluency while enriching their vocabulary on a wide range of topics. The program includes two 30-minute live sessions every week as well as a homework plan. Students can access class material and subsequent homework at all times through a personal online platform created for each group. Feel free to read more about the Ma Classe Online format and contact us for any questions. Reading material for this course consists mainly of the GB+ Collection from Level 3 to 8 (up to Level E as per Fountas & Pinnell) and provides the basis for all practice resources. This course is open to all students enrolled in French immersion grade 1 or 2, and also welcomes bilingual children who are fluent speakers of French or whose mother tongue is French. Program requirements: - Please schedule a short meeting with the instructor to review technical aspects and/or discuss the program - Access to a computer with a keyboard and webcam with microphone in a dedicated quiet space - Student must attend two weekly 30-minute sessions and complete homework in a timely fashion for the best results. Homework may consist in short web-based applications or physical worksheets, or both. - Printouts are made available to parents at least 24 hours before a class and should be ready when the session starts – if any difficulty, please contact admin at Learn more about the Ma Classe Online French Immersion program or feel free to contact our office for any questions. Schedule and availability: Each group accepts a minimum of 3 students. However, one trainee teacher or one ‘guest student’ may occasionally be invited to join a session to observe the class and get a feel of how the concept works. There are two day options for this course: Mon/Wed OR Tue/Wed – if your spot of interest is not available, feel free to contact us and we will either add your name to a waiting list or suggest further options.
